Frank Murphy who presents the Irish Show, Rambling House on Radio Fremantle 107.9fm, came in this week with an old radio show recorded on 1/4" tape. Frank had recorded this show as a Christmas special many years ago when he worked for the national broadcaster back in Ireland. The feature artist was Dickie Rock and there is a live interview (recorded after a gig in the early hours of the morning) and feature music.
It took awhile to get the interview off the tape and on to the computer as the tape had seen better days and we had to stop every 5 mins or so to clean the heads and tape guides. The quality of the recording however was very good and with a little modern processing on the computer it came up great. This special will be featured on Frank's Irish show in the near future.
